Information We Collect

SwiftCalc operates entirely on your local device. We do not run servers, do not have a backend, and do not make any network requests. The only data SwiftCalc stores is saved using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API — meaning it lives exclusively on your device.

Theme preference — whether you prefer dark mode or light mode
Autosave toggle — whether you have history autosave enabled or disabled
Calculation history — up to 50 recent calculations, only if you have autosave enabled
💡 All stored data is local-only. It never leaves your device. Ever.
02

What We Do Not Collect

We believe the best privacy policy is one where there's almost nothing to write about. Here is what SwiftCalc explicitly does not collect:

Data Type Collected?
Name, email, or personal identifiers✕ Never
Browsing history or web activity✕ Never
IP address or location data✕ Never
Device information or fingerprints✕ Never
Financial or payment information✕ Never
Cookies or tracking technologies✕ Never
Analytics or usage statistics✕ Never
Crash reports or diagnostics✕ Never
Local calculation history (if autosave is OFF)✕ Never
03

How We Use Your Data

The locally stored data is used for one purpose only: to make SwiftCalc work better for you across sessions. Specifically:

Restoring your dark or light theme when you reopen SwiftCalc
Showing your recent calculations in the History panel
Remembering whether you want autosave on or off

No data is processed, profiled, monetised, or used for any purpose beyond these three functional uses.

04

Data Sharing & Third Parties

✅ SwiftCalc shares zero data with any third party — not advertisers, not analytics providers, not data brokers, not anyone.

There are no third-party SDKs, tracking scripts, advertising networks, or external API calls embedded in SwiftCalc. The extension makes no outbound network requests whatsoever. Your calculation history is not readable by any website, extension, or service other than SwiftCalc itself.

05

Permissions Requested

SwiftCalc requests only one Chrome permission. Here is exactly what it is and why it is needed:

storage
Allows SwiftCalc to save your theme preference, autosave setting, and calculation history to your local device using Chrome's secure storage API. This permission grants no access to your browsing data, files, clipboard, or any other system resource.

No other permissions are requested. No optional permissions. No host permissions. No access to any websites you visit.

06

Data Retention & Deletion

You have complete, immediate control over all data SwiftCalc stores. Here is how to remove it:

Tap "Clear All" inside the History panel to instantly wipe all saved calculations
Toggle Autosave off to stop saving any future calculations
Uninstall SwiftCalc — all locally stored data is permanently erased
Use Chrome Settings → Privacy & Security → Clear Browsing Data to clear extension storage
07

Children's Privacy

SwiftCalc does not knowingly collect data from anyone — including children under the age of 13. Because no personal information is collected at all, SwiftCalc is completely safe for users of any age.

08

Security

SwiftCalc transmits no data over the internet. There is no server to breach. All data is stored locally and is governed by Chrome's built-in security model, which sandboxes extension data and prevents other extensions or websites from accessing it.

✅ Since no data is ever transmitted, the risk of a privacy breach through SwiftCalc is effectively zero.
09

Policy Changes

If this Privacy Policy is updated in the future, the revised version will be published on the Chrome Web Store listing page with an updated effective date. Continued use of SwiftCalc following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. We will never introduce data collection without updating this document and providing clear notice.
