Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy —
Your data stays yours.
We built a calculator, not a data harvesting machine.
Information We Collect
SwiftCalc operates entirely on your local device. We do not run servers, do not have a backend, and do not make any network requests. The only data SwiftCalc stores is saved using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API — meaning it lives exclusively on your device.
What We Do Not Collect
We believe the best privacy policy is one where there's almost nothing to write about. Here is what SwiftCalc explicitly does not collect:
| Data Type | Collected? |
|---|---|
| Name, email, or personal identifiers | ✕ Never |
| Browsing history or web activity | ✕ Never |
| IP address or location data | ✕ Never |
| Device information or fingerprints | ✕ Never |
| Financial or payment information | ✕ Never |
| Cookies or tracking technologies | ✕ Never |
| Analytics or usage statistics | ✕ Never |
| Crash reports or diagnostics | ✕ Never |
| Local calculation history (if autosave is OFF) | ✕ Never |
How We Use Your Data
The locally stored data is used for one purpose only: to make SwiftCalc work better for you across sessions. Specifically:
No data is processed, profiled, monetised, or used for any purpose beyond these three functional uses.
Data Sharing & Third Parties
There are no third-party SDKs, tracking scripts, advertising networks, or external API calls embedded in SwiftCalc. The extension makes no outbound network requests whatsoever. Your calculation history is not readable by any website, extension, or service other than SwiftCalc itself.
Permissions Requested
SwiftCalc requests only one Chrome permission. Here is exactly what it is and why it is needed:
No other permissions are requested. No optional permissions. No host permissions. No access to any websites you visit.
Data Retention & Deletion
You have complete, immediate control over all data SwiftCalc stores. Here is how to remove it:
Children's Privacy
SwiftCalc does not knowingly collect data from anyone — including children under the age of 13. Because no personal information is collected at all, SwiftCalc is completely safe for users of any age.
Security
SwiftCalc transmits no data over the internet. There is no server to breach. All data is stored locally and is governed by Chrome's built-in security model, which sandboxes extension data and prevents other extensions or websites from accessing it.
Policy Changes
If this Privacy Policy is updated in the future, the revised version will be published on the Chrome Web Store listing page with an updated effective date. Continued use of SwiftCalc following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. We will never introduce data collection without updating this document and providing clear notice.
